Formed
in 1915 the FDRB is one of the oldest departments in Lereado County.
With a proud history the FDRB continues to look towards the future. After a financial crisis in 2008 the Borough council and
the citizens voted unanimously to bring the department under the banner of the North Lereado County Fire Protection
District. Unlike other towns under the district, the FDRB is the first semi-autonomous department to be inducted
in. This allowed the FDRB to maintain its own chain of command and operations while having the backing of the massive resource
titan NLCFD. Not only did this reduce the need to forge complex mutual aid protocols, it also gives the FDRB unprecedented
access to the logistical support machine of the NLCFD. This move ensured the department’s long term survival and will
ensure the Borough has protection no matter what the circumstances. With the future now safely secure, nothing stands in the
way of the FDRB and its continued goal of provided the finest protection and reliability the citizens have come to know and
enjoy for over ninety years.
The
FDRB currently operates out of two stations with a total of seven units. Those units include: four engines, one quint, one
squad engine, and one command vehicle. The department is confident that its versatile fleet can handle any situation that
may arise.
