Unlike other Lego fire groups. The LMFD InOps and moderating team seek out potential candidates for membership.
If the candidate meets numerous criteria stated below, they will be sent an invitation to join. It is at that point the candidate
can make the choice for themselves. The Yahoo Groups application system has been formally disbanded. The only way to gain membership is by invitation only.
There are a few simple rules that must be followed to be considered for entry into the LMFD through the discussion
board.
1. There MUST be a website. Without it
we may never find your talent. In order to be elected into the general membership, a website has to exist; MOCPages and Brickshelf
Gallery do not qualify for general membership.
2. Every candidate must have at least one actual built
and documented Lego fire apparatus. An all CAD department will not qualify, and using someone else’s images will equate
to an automatic denial and a notification to the original designer. Failure to present any pictures will result in no consideration.
3. Numerous grammatical errors and spelling errors on the website will
also result in no consideration. The LMFD tries very hard to maintain a high standard of membership; members who lack basic
knowledge of the English language do not interest us.
However, if you believe your department meets all LMFD membership criteria, you may send a membership request to the
LMFD InOps. When sending this request, be sure to include: your name, your age, your website, and a
statement on why you believe you deserve entry into the LMFD. Your statement must
be sincere and well thought out. Brief fragments will not be considered.
The only way you will know if you made membership is if you receive an invitation. If you do not receive said
invitation, DO NOT pursue the issue further.
If these simple requirements are met, you may very well be on your way to joining the elite membership of the Lego
Metro Fire District.
If you are not accepted into the LMFD, do not fret! There is always time to rebuild your department
and make it more LMFD compliant. Do not feel distraught, and do not feel disheartened. Take everything in stride; prove
us wrong! We are always looking for builders who take losses as a lesson, and are willing to come back stronger and
better. Competition is an important part of life, and this is the most competitive Lego fire user group out there. Show us
that you are willing to improve and will try to be the best. Never let any decision stand in your way, success is what
you make of it.
Good luck.
